Search's Word Limit

Currently the search function limits words to at least four letters; is it possible to reduce it to three? It makes it really difficult to search for girls like MEW, and Rio Kitajima (Lots of other Kitajimas show up). Apologies if this topic has been settled before.

it does not address what i'm asking for, a reduction of the limit to three to make it easier to search for common actress names

It's possible to have this done, but here is why it is currently set at 4:

1. There is not enough demand to lower the minimum.
2. Lowering the minimum uses more server power, potentially making the site slower and your searches longer.
3. You'll get even more results with only 3 letters.

Adjust your settings to search titles only. That will reduce the number of results if you're looking for specific models. Also trying searching within specific forums or categories. Lastly, if you have many results, use the search function in your browser and see if each page has what you want.

thanks for the explanation Dyka, but how would you go about searching for someone like MEW (no results at all)? Are there any wildcards i can use alongside the search term MEW to produce actual results?

The best thing I can come up with is to type MEW in addition to the kanji used for her name. If there are no kanji, you're out of luck. Maybe there are things in the Fetish Fraternity and you could type something like "MEW more" or "MEW scan" etc and display results as posts. The last option is to request images in the Request forum.

yeah unfortunately "mew more" and the like will yield only results with "more".

I thought it required a minimum of 4 characters in the search itself.

Well that is a problem. Browser and forum-specific searches should still help you, though. The ID and Fetish forums definitely can bloat a search result.
