Hey everyone, need some advice on a recent problem.

I just bought a router to set up wireless connection at home, so that the laptop at home can use the internet. While at the same time, my desktop pc (which I use primarily to surf scanlover and download from megaupload and RS) is connected to router using a direct lan cable connection, and not wireless.

However, using this setup does not allow me to download from megaupload successfully. Although the save dialog box pops out after the timer countdown, and the save progress box starts, the whole download simply hangs there and not moving at all, despite the box showing xx kb/sec, etc. My router is linksys model WRT54G. When my internet connection goes directly through my modem (and not via router), the download works perfectly.

Pls let me know what settings I need to tweak on my router, if necessary. Many thanks!

I'm sorry to correct you here without properly replying your question marcklew dude.

Honestly, I think your thread isn't new as there are multiple/similiar threads such as this in both the Feedback / Suggestions and Idle Chatter sub-forums.

For your reference, the links are as follows:

Similiar links in Feedback / Suggestions
http://forum.scanlover.com/search.php?searchid=1785687

Similiar links in Idle Chatter
http://forum.scanlover.com/search.php?searchid=1785674

If I may add more, I would like to suggest that perhaps you're you're experiencing problems with your router's in-build Stateful Packet Inspection (SPI) Firewall.

This is possible because sites, such as MegaUpload implement a CAPTCHA (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CAPTCHA) to prevent automated downloading.

I'm not entirely sure about this though, might have to go through your enclosed manual on how it's configured.

Thanks for the head's-up. I didn't bother checking out whether the links are working or not this time after I posted my reply.

Anyways... It ain't working for me now either. Here's how to go about it. Just use the keyword MegaUpload to search in both the Feedback / Suggestions and Idle Chatter sub-forums.

These should come up with a bunch of links each, in which, your question could be posted in and/or you might already to find the answer in there somewhere.

I'm sorry for the poor directions marcklew dude,

No worries there fylth! I flipped through the search responses and think this is only happening to me :why:

I'm guessing I might need to 'teach' the router to 'allow' downloads from MU though it seems quite technical for me at this time. Will continue to google for the right response! Wish me luck!
