Tagging Threads

You might have seen that tags have been introduced here at SLF, and it's fallen on me to try and introduce and explain how we see them being used here at ScanLover, so here goes...

What Are Tags?

Basically, tags are key words that can be attached to the first post of a thread (note that they cannot be attached to replies), and these can be used to search for other threads bearing the same tags. Anyone starting a new thread is able to attach tags to his or her post. Only the thread starter, a Moderator or Adminstrator will be able to change or add to the tags in a thread.

These are the the defaults for using Tags:

Tag Minimum Length : 3

Tag Maximum Length : 25

Maximum Tags per Thread : 25

Maximum Tags Applied by Thread Starter : 5

Maximum Tags Applied by Other Users : 2

Tag Cloud: Number of Tags : 100

We will monitor and review the maximum Tags applied by Thread Starter and other Users.

What are Tags for?

Tagging a thread with a model's name, for example, means that clicking on that tag will result in a search for all other threads that have been tagged with that model's name. So in essence, tags are an additional search facility, but because such precise words are used, only threads tagged with the exact same word(s) will be searched for, making it a much more precise search tool.

Why aren't all the threads at SLF Tagged?

Tagging is new to SLF and it will take time for tags to be in widespread use. Older threads will all be tagged eventually and encompass the entire forum.

What we ask is that any new thread be tagged by the thread starter. Also, we ask that older threads be tagged by the members who first started them. Moderators will add tags to any threads started by members who are no longer active.

Which Tags should I use?

So as to keep the TAG CLOUD neat and tidy, all members are asked to observe the following simple rules<O:p</O:p
<O:p</O:p

1)When naming a TAG, please use English only, and lowercase. Kanji naming will not be allowed.<O:p</O:p
<O:p
2) Use a common naming convention <O:p</O:p

Naming Convention<O:p</O:p
Face, Eyes, Nose, Mouth, Breast, Stomach, Arse, Legs, Feet, Shaved, Pubic Hair, Long Hair, Short Hair, Nude, Non Nude, Blow Job, Fucking, Anal, Dildo, Vibrator, Internal CumShots, Breast CumShots, Facial’s, Lesbian, Thai, Malaysian, Japanese, Chinese, Filipino, Vietnamese, Mongolian.<O:p</O:p

Pay Sites <O:p</O:p
When adding a Company/Pay Site Tag, please name it exactly according to the pay site name. IE: xcity, not x city or x-city, <O:p</O:p

Models Names<O:p</O:p
As this is an English language forum, Model names must be TAGGED by first name then family/surname only: IE: Maria Takagi, not Takagi Maria. Some models go by more than 1 name, so if appropiate, you can TAG with the second name so long as it is in English only.<O:p</O:p

More TAG names will be added to this list as we at Scanlover.com think fit.<O:p</O:p Any other TAG names that any member thinks is appropriate please send your Ideas to a Admin/Mod for consideration<O:p</O:p
<O:p</O:p
3) Where there is more than one thread, IE: Graphis thread. Use the Graphis TAG. This gives an easy way to link threads with common or similar names.
<O:p</O:p
4) Please bear in mind, that where some threads have lots of different models, there may not always be room to put every model's name in the TAG, as there is only room for 25 TAGS on each thread. So please bear this in mind when posting up pictures.
<O:p</O:p
NB) Please note, Thread Starters can only apply a maximum of 5 Tags per thread, and Users, 2 Tags per thread. If you wish to apply further Tags, please send a PM to an Admin or Mod with your request.

5) Please do not use dates of birth for a TAG name.

6) Do not use your own pet names for models/fetishes at all, as some of these names are meaningless to lots of other members.

<O:p</O:pWe at Scanlover.com have tried to keep the rules simple.<O:p</O:p What we have to bear in mind, is that the TAG CLOUD will only show the most used 100 TAGS, and only refreshes every 30 minutes.<O:p</O:p

We will remove any TAGS that are not relevant, or do not follow an easy naming convention.

Hopefully, once we have started to get an organised TAG feature in place, performing searches will become easier.
