For the first time I got some "notices" bar telling me:
"Hi, Lustor! ! Please read the Official Tagging Guideline Rules (http://forum.scanlover.com/showthread.php?t=20364)."
Sure. No problem with checking that out.
Only... I can't get the friggin' bar off my screen. It's been days now. I have clicked it and gone to the thread at least 10 times. Stupidly, when I go there I have to log in again as it doesn't seem to recall who I am.
So, I would say, either find away to fix this or don't do mass notices again.
Thank you.

find away to fix this
Sorry. We afraid there's no way to fix this. I hope there's a patch to fix this vbforum bug though. But until then, you may have to be patient with it. We will remove the notice though, after a certain time.
don't do mass notices again.
We will do this again whenever there's an important announcement in future. The reason is because we find out that most users tend to not to read the new announcement due to several reasons (eg. didn't notice, overlooked, lazy to read, ignore, etc). Some announcements are very important, we would have to remind the users to read it before they make mistakes in future.
To the user who feel uneasy with the pesistent notice in the board, please be patient. It's a important task to remind all the users to read the important announcement. Hope you will understand this and thanks for the cooperation.

I have no problem with being sent notices, but if they start building up, stacked one on top of the other, then it's going to make it difficult to deal with the board, not to mention being annoying. That's all I meant.

No worry. As I mentioned previously, the notice would be only appeared for a certain period. Once the notice is old enough, we will remove it, until the next time we have a new notice. So most likely, we won't have more than 1 notice at the same time, unless there's special case or emergency.

Hi Lustor,
I also asked the same question as you, as I can appreciate the annoyance. Copy attached here with reply. However, as an additional item, I would just like to point out that I will be starting a FAQ regarding Tags for any queries that are sent to any of the Admins/Mods sometime during the course of the next week or 2.

Yes, it could be done. I have named the thread in the notice accordingly.

is it possible that once a member has clicked onto the link, the notice dissappears.
Unfortunately, we don't have that option rite now in the forum setting... We could make it not persistent though. A notice that is not persistent will be displayed the first time a user visits the board and will then disappear until they visit again (it is displayed once per browser-session). So the notice will appear again unless we delete it.
