Hi, I'm new to this forum. I wanted to see post some pictures of me so that I can get some feedback on my appearance. I like posing for pictures and I was thinking it could be a quick way to make some money while I'm in school. And since this is an asian appreciation forum, i thought this was the right place to post. I wasn't sure if I was supposed to open a new thread or not. So here are two quick pictures of me that I took a while back. One was with a friend's webcam and the other was taken while I was at the beach.

from my years studying in the uk (i'm a malaysian chinese) and mingling around them, i have no doubt that caucasians will find you very attractive.


however, from the eyes of a chinese (or asian perhaps?), you might just appear as another typical gal; above average for sure =)

ha ha! i'm glad that i could help a little. i can't remember the countless silly arguments i had with my caucasian mates on this who-is-the-prettier-gal issue.


anyway it all depends on the target audience for your case to be honest. and of course the type of "industry"; sexually suggestive, partial nudity etc.

Welcome to the forum. You could make some quick money if you pose nude, but if you're not going to pose nude then you're probably not going to make much unless you take good pics and take requests because people would want to see you in specific poses wearing specific outfits. But hey, go for it.

I don't know how much that (or my opinion means either way) - you never know what will sell, average or gorgeous or just being marketed correctly. From what I have seen, you look pretty enough to give it a go - - I have seen some really homely Japanese girls become superstars/Idols - so being average does not mean you won't be successful - there are way to many other factors in becoming a success. For what it means, you seem to have enough beauty to model .... it just depends on what you want to do with it - and how much you want it (and lets face it - - who you know) to make a real success of it (and oh yes, the "IT" factor of just a little bit of luck.

As others have stated, you would need to post some better pictures to tell - don't go running out and buy and camera or try to get into the modelling world yet - get a friend to take a few digital pics - closer of your face and body - in your favourite clothes and go from there - and let everybody sound off ..

I have tried to include some funny face Japanese stars - but I cannot find the really famous (quite homely idol/actress with short hair - who had something - but I have NO IDEA what other Japanese men saw in her) - so don't give up .... give it a shot!

I'm another one of those guys that finds asian girls particularly attractive (of course, that's why I'm here ;)). I'd love to see a few larger bikini shots.

I don't know much about the modelling industry, but you will need to get yourself a portfolio of really good photos, probably taken by a professional, or at least a really good camera.

youve got a very cute looke going for yourself, which, imho, is better than what the mainstream media looks for when choosing their models (tall, thin, [supposedly] beautiful--even though beauty is in the eye of the beholder!-- etc.). definitely your body looks very nice, slender and very cute! like everyone else has said more pictures would be great, would give us more material for feedback, as well as... well, im sure i speak for everyone when i say that wed all love to see some more pictures of you!

if you are seriously looking to get into the modeling business, post some more pics and ill have my roommate take a look (he is a photographer of models and knows what the industry looks for) and tell you what he thinks!


I don't know much about the modelling industry, but you will need to get yourself a portfolio of really good photos, probably taken by a professional, or at least a really good camera.
this is probably a good call. work on head shots/body shots and get the portfolio together. high-res images (if youre really looking to get into things a 10mega pixel camera would be your best shot, gives great detail and a very deep image, of course this would be much later down the road) are your best friend when submitting to places. they look at EVERY detail! and of course if they like the overall package but find a few flaws they wont hesitate to change those about you, haha.
its a very competitive world, modeling is, so be prepared and dont ever get discouraged!

Speaking as a Japanese girl, I can tell you, yes, you are very "Cute" & maybe some costume, or cute bikini/swimwear is to your advantage.

Unfortunately, I agree the while cute, you are not what I percieve the world of Glamour photography would want.
Not without some severe photoshop work.

But I agree, go for it, & see what happens, you have nothing to loose except your time ^*

But even that would have been a learning curb.

Chitose, you have started a very interesting thead here. And I hope you are getting a good supply of constructive answers. But...and I really mean BUT, you have opened yourself up here. You have opened yourself up to a whole world of hurt if you are not careful.

My suggestion is to take the good replies and feel good about those...but you will also hear remarkabley bad and discrediting remarks from immature little shits that hold the beauty ideal reflected back from their own visions of porn. Magazine beauty, idol beauty and porn beauty are misleading, photoshopped to hell and all together deadly to compare onself to. Pity the boys who may rant against you because you do not look like Mihiro or some other rare earthly icon. This may happen...If those who hit you harder than you expected, because their expericence is nothing but celluloid or glossy paper...well just take care okay. Don't believe all you read.

You are pretty, but why on gods green earth you are asking for feedback on an Asian porn forum escapes me. We are either infatuated by Asian women period...or our standards of beauty are rather unrealistic and virtual.

you are a grown woman and you know what you are doing. no one can make you feel less or more of a woman based on negative of positive remarks you read. It's all on you and a little criticism here and there from people who are open to giving you a piece of advice is cool... take it with a grain of salt.

Hehe, the only reason I choose this board was because i was sure i would get a good response. I just felt like a little confidence booster. The more I think about it, chances are this career isnt going to work out for me and I should stick to school. But it was always an idea in the back of my mind. Which, again, why I wanted to check out this board. Because if I get bad feedback here, then i know i shouldnt get into modeling.

Also I understand how stupid people can be, but as I've seen so far, most people are nice and are actually giving me good advice.

If you want feedback in this forum, you will most certainly get it, and some people will just tell it to you how it is. The first two pictures you posted are pretty good I love the first one cause it shows off a couple of sexy qualities about you, your lips and eyes. The second shows off your body, and your def not lacking there. Maybe you should go to a studio and have someone take some pictures for you and then maybe you can post it up, but I guess for now those two have had our members itching to see more.:please::blush:

My current GF is also about 5'3" and she does minor modeling. Theres lots of photographers out there, it's just a matter of if you fit what they need. Some will require you to be in a bikini/llingerie and usually will pay higher than those taking photos for high fashion etc. Good luck you can definately make it.

You mention that you will just stick to school. I don't see why you can't still do school and then try to give it a shot on a part time basis. There is no reason not to try. If you try and it doesn't work out, at least you wont be wondering "what if". But if it does succeed, then even better.

Seeing your first pic shows that you can make cute faces is not a bad idea to try to go for modelling. There's a few things to keep in mind though.

One is that you can make money as a model...period. And by model i mean photography model, not runway/clothing model.

Two is that if you choose to go the nude modelling way you can still make money and deal with reputable photographers.

Three is that modelling is a lifestyle choice, like bodybuilding or any other kind of sport or business. It's a part of you, you can't do it like a job to make money, you have to do it because you truly want to do it and enjoy it.


Four is that you can do modelling for anything from drinks to clothes to pieces of furniture, they all need a pretty girl next to them to make them more attractive, you just have to choose and think about what kind of modelling you want.

Five is that you're only young once, so if you've even thought about modelling more than once a week i'd suggest you try it, if only even once or twice. You really can't get back your youth and you don't want to reach 30 or 40 years old and think back and feel bad that you never tried modelling when you were younger.


That's about it from me so far, keep in mind the world is full of cute girls but the only difference between you and them is if you choose to share your cuteness with the world. It may mean more than you think.

Next couple of weeks I will be photographing an exceptionally beautiful girl (IMHO), 21yo who works at a tabletop dance venue. She would like to appear in Playboy/Penthouse/Hustler or any other men's magazine that will accept her. They should be queuing up and falling all over each other when they see her.
No one had ever put the suggestion to her before, I cannot understand why not. Unfortunately I will not be able to post the pix on Scanlover because she is not asian, sorry folks. However with her permission I may send some PMs to selected members for their opinions.

Many photographers are willing to give a model all the high quality photos she needs for a portfolio, for free, in return for modeling for them. IN other words, you model for them for 4 hours, and you divided the photos he takes in half, with both of you having rights to them - you to use for your portfolio, he for his. Lots of amateur photographers will shoot you for free, just for the fun and the experience, and many of them are quite good. Try posting a notice at an arts school and you'll have more offers than you can shake a stick at.
