How could you have seen this movie? It won't be released until June 16, 2006 worldwide. ::/:

Did you see one of the two prequels or are you lying just to boost your post count? :queerlook:

I won't waste my money on this movie. I will peep it out for the cars & the Asian chicks though. But they could have found someone other than Bow Wow to put in this damn movie.

I definitely will not watch in Theaters because I am not into cars at all I only want to watch it because my favorite actress Kitagawa Keiko (Sailor Mars/Rei in Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon) is in it =)

@Latinchulovip: Screener.. not sure how that works.. unless you meant 'download' =X If so PM me haha.

Basically, critics gets a screening of what the finished product will look like in theatres. After screening, critics give the production crew their likes and dislikes, and the production crew then edits the movie down to what you see in theatres.

That's how I understand it.

All the movies get screened or for edition, rating, magazine critics etc. So get to see the movie first before they are released on the theatre. Also the workprint.

The cars are not pretty nice. They are FURIOUS. They used to have screeners every once in a while in the theatre at our university. pretty much all the movies were bad, ha. and I just spilled water on my shirt... damn.

I read that the two chick that say "Ready" "Setto" "Go" are actually Kaila Yu and Aiko Tanaka! Kaila of course one of the all time popular asian nude models, although not so much recently.

Also, last December I went to the Park Hyatt in Tokyo and saw Bow Wow in the elevator (I was getting out, he was getting in). Must have been staying there. Wonder if it was on FF3 business, or maybe he just had a concert. Didn't talk to him.

Hmm intersting news that a friend linked me to:

Clicky (http://biz.yahoo.com/prnews/060530/latu106.html?.v=52)

And well I am about 30 minutes away from Universal Studio's... But just curious as I am completely new to Premieres and the concept... But say I were to go... Would I get the chance to have my picture taken with let's say... Keiko? Along with... Would I have to get the tickets beforehand or can I get them there on the spot? Sorry I am just really really anxious about this even though I not into the cars and only supporting Keiko... And if there is the chance of having pictures taken I will definitely be there.. But I am still unsure baout the tickets/getting in/taking pictures procedure...

So if anyone could help me out I would appreciate it.

After watching 2fast2furious (one of the WORST movies you'll probably ever see for a while) I was a bit unsure when I heard it was coming out. But Seeing as the actors have pretty much all changed I might check it out on DVD after its been out, not likely to go to a cinema and see it.

I was never interested in this movie series, but since the 3rd film is taking place in Japan, I would like to see it (maybe).

I'd watch the film if it weren't for its distinct lack of Asian women.

Also, if the movie were actually filmed in Tokyo, that would have been nice. Oh well... :god:

It was.. they showed palces in Japan such as Shibuya which I just finished watching (Sh15uya) and that is definitely in Japan, as I am sure they wouldn't go filming FF:TD in US that would just be too disappointing....

Lack of Asian Women? Depends on which Asian right? Cause there were a LOT

SacredCultivator

Hmmm they wouldn't list many Asians in my opinion because it is an American film so they try to keep it to a minimum on the Listing of Asian Casts, in my opinion.. And I can understand parts of it being filmed in LA.. but then I guess they just showed shots of Japan? Or am I mistakened on that? Because seeing Shibuya(The Towers that say Shibuya 109) made me beleive it would be in Japan...

Dyka

It's not hard for them to make it look like the movie was shot in Japan. There are many sitcoms that take place in one area and are filmed in another. As a matter of fact, many might already know this, Star Wars III was filmed entirely in a studio. They just shot footage in other areas and green screened the shots.

To add to this, there are some CG racing scenes in Tokyo Drift. But really, imagine how hard it would be for the producers to shut down even one street in Tokyo for a mere day so they could do filming, not to mention how many people would be fucked with their jobs because of it. Tom Cruise is trying VERY hard to convince producers for MI:4 to get a small chunk of Tokyo closed for filming "because it'll look amazing." (Not an exact quote.) It's simply too inconvenient for such a busy part of the world.

Yeah that makes sense, thanks for explaining it to me.. So the shots of 'tokyo' were any 'real' or are they greenscreened? Cause when I saw the towers for Shibuya that got me.

Dyka
06-29-2006, 05:25 AM
Provided my sources are correct, they either filmed Tokyo scenes and green screened them or did heavy CG work. I'm guessing the former is much more likely.

06-29-2006, 06:03 AM
well if anyone watches Lost, they do a lot of the same thing... they shoot mostly in hawaii, but you see scenes that are definitely not hawaii

there's clear shots of sydney and seoul that must have been location shoots and not greenscreen.

but then again, the budget for Lost is probably a bit higher than the above-named B movie lol

Heheh Sorry to turn the tables but, just watched some special on Channel 7 (1AM) and theyw ere talking about people fixing up cars and brought up the movie, and the Director talked about how they actually did their filming in Tokyo and din't use them as GreenScreens, like not in those exacty words but in relevance to that and I thought that was kind of interesting.

movie was better than what you would expect from the fast and the furious series though. a hell of a lot better than the first two in my opinion. having bow wow though was a bit much too but the girls and the movie in general was interesting to watch. i gave it a thumbs up but not a 2 thumbs up. was good but still had room for improvement.

This movie always gets criticized by almost EVERY car enthusiast about being fake or overdone. But its a movie!!

Nobody ever says... wow... that guy in matrix stopped the bullets with his hand... SO FAKE!

I have always enjoyed the F&F movies just because I like cars and its a movie that suits that interest. I remember when the first one came out. Every car forum out there had stuff like...

So fake! If the floorboard fell off during his race, how can Vin Diesel get in the car so easily when he was running from the cops!?

There's a old saying that fits well here, not sure of it exactly but it goes a little something like this:

You can ask the viewer to believe the impossible, but not the improbable.

Basically, you can ask a person to believe that the world you see is a computer program and through that knowledge you can channel your thoughts to manipulate the code and stop bullets with your mind. But if you ask them to believe that a Dodge Viper got beat in a drag race by a Mini Cooper you're asking for trouble.

anybody noticed the REAL DK in the movie? hahah....

08-04-2006, 07:35 AM
seriously... if they were to keep everything real... the way it's meant to be... then it would be a useless boring show.... so of course they had to add in the improbable... isn't every racing show like that?

it's the same for initial d, but u don't really hear much eh?....

This movie is ALRIGHT I give it a 7/10. And the only reason this movie gets 7/10 is because of the chicks =D DAMN THAT'S LIKE HOT STUFF. OH yeah I also like the song teriyaki boyz - tokyo drift. "I ain't from china man i am japan mannnnn"

And yet the world of motorsport flourishes.. hrm...

lol....i was only referring to movies.... it's fine if it happens in the real world... but the basic expectation in a movie is for something improbable to happen rite?.... i mean we kinda expect things like this to happen in a racing movie.... but criticise it when it happens....

i wonder why.....

Made the mistake of watching this film. What a piece of crap. There is no story worth mentioning (let me try: troubled youth goes to Japan, learns how to drive car down curvy road real fast *YAWN*) and the Japan shown in this film is TOTAL BS. It's about as idiotic as those US films with house parties stocked with hundreds of chicks in short skirts and pink tank tops.

SacredCultivator
08-26-2006, 06:26 PM
LOL everyone has their own opinion and it isn't really a piece of crap... Driving / Drifting BIG Difference so thought I would mention that.. Cause you can trying driving down curvy roads FAST then try doing them Drifting haha big difference.

Anyway I watched this only for Keiko Kitagawa but turned out liking Han's Role a lot.. So I didn't think this was a Piece of Crap.. heck I watched it, dl'ed it, and getting the DVD, as already got hte soundtrack ^_^
