For those who have WinXP and like the idea of tweaking it for personalization and/or extra performance check these websites out. This applies to all versions:

http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_t.htm
http://www.winguides.com/registry

Also, if you like to read about the latest in PC components such as CPU's, Motherboards, Graphics Cards etc. check out this website:

http://www.hardwaresecrets.com

It has some good tutorials on many types of hardware installations too.

I've seen the first one before, and it is really a great site if you wanna mess around with the settings and make things more like what you want.

Are all the reg files from kelly's korner safe? I've thought about using some, but I was hesitant.

Yes they are safe (some of them I wouldn't touch though). I wouldn't recommend in attempting to modify the registry if you don't have the knowledge of how it works and how it is structured. One small mistake and your entire system would be corrupted.

Before you attempt a "hack" always create a Restore Point so you can revert to before the modification.

I'm pretty familiar with reg files. I usually like to look at them before importing them. The reg files from kelly's korner don't allow that unless I run it.
I hate having lots of sites in my address bar, so I created a reg file that I just double click. It wipes out all the site addresses and adds back my favorite ones.

The site I check daily for the lastest hardware news is Tom's Hardware. I have frequented their site since 2000, and I haven't seen a website that were better than them in regards to hardware news & reviews and related topics.
