President Obama Letter [Archive] - ScanLover Forum

THIS IS A SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT TO ALL SCANLOVER MEMBERS (Please Read Carefully.):

On a fluk, believe it or not, we sent President Obama a letter via snail mail, asking him to join our Forum. We NEVER expected a response whatsoever.

Then, last month, we received this letter, by mail.

I have scanned it and posted it for all to see. (Note, I had to doctor it a bit, sorry.)

Since receiving this letter, and our whole Staff going into shock, we have been in communication with a President Obama Staff Member who has asked us to set up a Special Member User where only our discussion Forums appear.

This we have done, and we are presently waiting for an acccount verification from President Obama. Hopefully, this will be real soon.

We are asking all Scanlover Members to be extemely respectful if/and when he arrives.

For the most part, we are directing all of his Posts into the Conclave, where we hope to discuss with him... Isssues as they relate to the Asian-American Community and perhaps Asia as a whole.

We as the Scanlover Staff, are very excited about this turn of events. We do not know how much he will be here or what his wishes are. We will be working this as it comes.

If nothing else, just to get him as a Special Member, is a major accomplishment for us.

(We are not exactly sure of how much he has been in here, or where, but we as Staff Members will be moderating all of his posts and related reply posts... Very Carefully.)

We hope all of our Members are proud of this opportunity, and will act accordingly. We will post updates here as they happen.

We may as well set the record straight and let everyone know about our new Forum Policy regarding 4/1. I'm sure scanlover will agree to this.

Sorry guys, we had a number of people delete their hard drives during last year's 4/1 and send scanlover some threatening e mails and such afterwards.

Guess ya just can't have fun anymore without hurtin' people's feelings.

It's true, I've read some Mod stuff and it said that they are banishing April Fools jokes.

Oldies has set up a special member's forum where the discussion forums will only be seen. He'll only be browsing in Conclave mostly. I'm sure the Av's will be okay.

Yup, here we are announcing one of the biggest, if not the biggest event, in Scanlover History...

And we're talkin' about people who deleted their hard drives last year because they were afraid they had Kiddie Porn on them.

For those who weren't here last year for April Fool's, we set up an Entry Notice on April 1st, that Scanlover was CLOSED and being investigated by Interpol.

Despite the fact that there was a link to get into the forum anyways, again, a bunch of people (Supposedly) cleaned out their hard drives.

Once the Hoax was announced, scanlover received the Threats. It was some nasty shit... Including letters from Attorneys.

Anyways, let's enjoy what's going on now... instead of looking at the past!

It is quite common for people, especially people who sign their name thousands of times, to have a scribble for a signature. The Wiki Sig is a government sig for signing Congressional Bills and such, where he's taking a few seconds to sign.

I'm sure he just scribbled a sig for us, along with a few hundred other letters at the same time.

actually this is true , when i was signing off on tons of PW every day my signature went to shit in no time ...
still sign that way 30 years later , its almost impossible to forge my signature ....

Good news everyone, the account we set up for him is now VERIFIED.

Now, please realize everyone, this does not mean he will post in here.

Per request from a Staff Member of his, he can only go into a limited number of Sub-Forums, and cannot receive (Or send for that matter.) PM's.

For the most part, he can only see The Conclave, so that's where we expect him... if, and that's a big IF...

He posts anything in here.

Let's all cross our fingers and hope.

P.S. If he posts, he will appear as PR Staff color. That's because that is where we had to set up his Special User Account with limited access, No PM's and other limitations. This Does Not Mean He Is A PR Staff Member. So Please... Do Not Panic!!!

It saddens me, if true, that the administration would spend one iota of energy on this forum. I a big fan of Scanlover. I'm also a big fan of playing Tiger Woods on XBox. Obama is our employee and I don't want him spending any of his time on either one of these activities.

though, he isn't my employee (or maybe he is. ..as noble, old europe might be, in the end we are an american colony, like in rome's best days..) i'm kinda glad, if he still takes his time for such activities. keeps him probably, from gettin' chancer or becoming a evil lizardman or something.. : D

I forgot to tell you guys. I was living in LA the same years he was going to college in Highland Park. By coincidence, I worked with someone who ended up knowing him back in those days.

She is still in contact with him.
