thumbnails not loading [Archive] - ScanLover Forum

I recently installed Windows Internet Explorer ver 8. Since then, I can not view the Scanlover thumbnails!! How do I fix this?

The problem may not be your browser. I have the same problem and I use Firefox. It seems that we have problems with our server, be patient ... I'm sure Scanlover will fix it soon.

in every threads that have attachment thumbnails, i can't view it; they are not loading. i'm not sure is it a fault from my connection or yours. i'm sure that i can't view the thumbnails from my firefox as well as ie8

yeah ive had the same problem, the previews dont load but if i click on the ? where a picture should be it takes me to the photo. im glad im not the only one i was afraid it was my computer :(

I have tried to ping the thumbnail server and the forum main server.
here is the result.

Oh, poor you, having to move your mouse and click a button in order to see a picture. Of course nobody can expect you to expend such an amount of effort.

We are a non-profit forum. All the facilities in here are purely financially supported by scanlover. We are certainly glad if you enjoy this forum. But when the forum is facing difficulties, we expected that you would be patient, and support us until the issue is fixed.

SLF has been great, and I don't think it's too fair to be up in arms just because something has gone wrong, since the mods/admins have acknowledged this problem and are working on it.

Just wanted to know that it isn't a problem with my internet/browser.

You're looking at it all wrong. If someone's OMGHAX I'M LEAVING CAUSE I CANT SEE MAH THUMBNAILS YOU SUX...

we're better off without them, in my opinion. Y'all do a fantastic job here, especially considering it's a FREE site. Losing a few crybabies when the servers are goofing up, in my opinion, is a BENEFIT. :p

And yes, I stopped lurking just for this post.

I'm showing my support too. I hate stupid detractors who are going off on one just cause they cant see a thumbnail. Technical issues with servers cannot be helped. The guys who run this forum are doing a sterling job and they shouldn't let a couple off asswipes who say the will quit get them down. The forum is better off without them maybe they should go get gfs lol

Does the moderators knew if the recent server failures / problems existed because of purely server issues or exceeded bandwidth resulting in fatal errors?

If SL needed donations to buy bigger bandwidth and function properly, some of us could help.

I appreciate all the frustration and anxiety that was expressed on the first couple pages of this thread because it underscores that I’m not alone in regarding Scanlover as a very important site. So much so that I sorely miss it when its down or not firing on all cylinders. Even Rhogan's comment was a left-handed compliment.

I can help with donations, but NO ads!
I can't stand all those other forums with their flipp'n ads!!!!:unforgiven:

One thing I'm very thankful for about SLF is that I can surf here without fear of my PC getting hit with malware. Something I wouldn't be able to say about other Asian babe sites I've visited in the past.

As you guys out there can see, the server has fallen over onto it's back again, so no thumbnails.

:'( it was briefly fixed yesterday, or at least it was in the threads I was in ;) but now it seems to be back with a vengeance, before it was most, but not all of the pics, now none on the TN are loading :'(

finger crossed and I hope you figure out what's causeing it soon.

that said even with the TN's messed up Scanlover is still King ;)

EDIT: Had the problem with Firefox and Opera, both latest eds

I sure hope this gets resolved SOON... Takes long enough to look through a "moderately" sized archive of 10 pages... but 15-50 pages, having to click on EVERY single thumb to see if it's what I want takes literally an extra 5min/page to view... now add that up over 10-50pages and see what I'm talking about? Lots of wasted time.

All this while I thought it might be an issue with my ISP as there were a few days when images from a lot of different sites weren't loading at all.

What happened to me was that if you open a SLF page with many pics on it, your browser will try to open them all even if no thumb server available, and you will start lagging big, to the point that you wont be able to open another site or load another page until either, finish "loading" all the thumbnails or click stop on your browser in the SLF page.

Yesterday I was posting some torrents and it took me ages, every time I posted my browser tried to load all other thumbnails

A nice way to improve this is if you go to your User CP, then to Edit Options and set the posts per page to the minimum 5 ( I had it set for 40 posts per page :cry: )

while it is a bit of an inconvience to not be able to view the thumbnails (and a bit a of a scare cuz i thought i screwed something up on my computer) there really isn't a need to be complaining.
the mod were quick to reply to the problem and are working on it and SLF imo is generally problem free.
considering all the great contributors in this forum having to deal w/ no thumbnails on a very rare basis really isn't a problem to me.

I don't know how insulated my situation is, but I had to clear both my SLF cookies, then ALL cookies... To get ALL my thumbs to return.

Also, I have found that sometimes... I must hit Refreash a couple times before all thumbs will load on a page.

The thumbnails problem seems to be reoccuring today. it's not a timeout thing either. It is instant.

It mostly seems to affect thumbnails created 'TODAY'.
'YESTERDAY' and before seem to be okay.

Well, the thumbnail problem is fixed, so I thank you scanlover, but I'm still having an odd little problem. Every time I hit the thanks button, the page loads all over again and puts me at the top. Is this happening to anyone else?

I experience something similar. The page refreshes, starts at the top, then the page moves down to the next post of the thread.

Must be some glitches on your browser or internet connection. I remember me also encountered this once before. After a few refreshes, it was back to normal.:full:
