Hi ....
I have noticed that pages "jump" when the "Thanks" button is used.
Also ... If you are on the "New Posts" page and go into a thread .... the "Back" button for navigation will not always get you back to the "New Posts" list that you were looking at.

With the "Thanks" button .... when you hit it ... instead of your "Thanks" just being inserted into the post, the screen "jumps" as it creates a new page ....
so there will be one page "with the thanks" and "one without" .... You have to
use the back button twice to get to where you were.

it must have been sorted out because it didn't do that when i thanked the last post as a 'test'
also - the thumbnails are coming across perfectly and quickly also - using Opera 10 and Mac OS X 10.5.7, if it's relevant .....
so many thanks and please let us know if you need a sub ..

hmm the "Thanks" button works for me.. does anyone else have this problem?
The post thanks hack was updated as well so maybe your browser was still using the old ajax javascript files.. do try again after a few hours or the next day and see if it works properly then.. thanks!

No problem on my side when using the "Thanks" button.

For sure, it doesn't serve any purpose except just for looks.

Some thumbnails work and others dont, weird
Also I have a new thread "on hold", if I use the preview post, the thumbs dont work, and if clicked they send me to the picture but in the same browser window, not in a new window
In the past when a thumb failed to show, you get an "X" along with the usual info of the pic: size, name, number of views, etc. now it only displays the name
About to click the "create new thread" button, lets see what happens...
Update:
After posting the thumbs still dont work, but now I get the usual info in the missing thumbnail pic, als if I click on them it opens a new window and show the picture without problems.
The experience mod was unnecessary, the need of prunning made it lost his reason to exist. Unfortunately seems like the people lost his medals too, so bad, they are really dedicated members
We gonna get some new modules for this new version of VBulletin?

So .... if the vbexperience mod is gone (and a few posters here are glad it's gone) .... Then why not get rid of all metrics:
No Thanks
No measure of the number of views
etc.
The vbexperience mod was a good measure of member participation in order for administrators to judge when promotion takes place, who gets awards, etc.
There are many people with a lot of terrible posts. They get a few points for their post, but none for thanks, thus reflecting in part, the poor quality of their post. There are some that just don't use the thanks themselves and others respond by not thanking them so much. This is a reflection on the quality of their membership, not on the quality of their posts.
There are others who make very high quality or extremely popular posts and receive more thanks. This is (was) reflected in their point totals and should refect their status as a member.
The point system was valid. I am unapologetically sorry to see it go.
Could someone now tell me what criteria will be used in judging membership and promotion? This IS the finest web site of its kind and I think we have taken a step backwards.
Actually when we judged members for MOM or for any other reason we typically had a few staff members who kept track of the user naturally through going through the site looking for stuff to moderate and files to download. The vB experience system was more of a decoration to us. The Thanks button was implemented a long time ago to reduce the amount of "thanks" posts, of which we used to see and delete many. It has worked very well in reducing the amount of work there is to do on the forum, and every user has a tracker for them under their name in their posts.
But actually all of the things that were removed in this update were removed because they are not compatible with the newest version of vBulletin. We may or may not reinstall those things. We'll see...

This new "You have downloaded too much too fast. Please click here to fix the problem" feature scares me away. It seems to kick in after about 10 images, or maybe 3 images per minute. That's too much. Pity.

I hate to say it but totally agree with this. I can understand it popping up when using Flashget or when using Firefoxe's "Down them All". But when just downloading 1 pic at a time it is pretty annoying when it pops up before you can download a set.

I guess what really annoys me as that it says I'm a "leecher" and I have actually uploaded over 40,000 attachments to this forum. Hopefully this can be adjusted in some way.

One thing I had been "granted" a few years back was a larger mailbox. When I logged on today I found it was much smaller than before and suddenly full up. Had to go delete stuff just in case anyone wants to send me any inspiring mails...

Seeing how the all the forum sections has been re-arrange and clamp down to make things easier (pic posts on the upper side, discussions on the lower side). Although it takes a getting used too.

I moved the image and torrent forums to the top because
1) These forums have the highest users and activity
2) Unregistered users have access to browse these forums, but not those below (try logging out and see!)
Hopefully the changes makes the forum a bit more user friendly and will attract the lurkers to sign up as members

1) Downloads too much - You are not choosing those images that you really want, but just indiscriminatingly ripping everything the forum has.
sorry, this is only my opinion..
but why do we want to choose images? (image 1, 7 ,9 ,21,....)
of course we want the whole picture set.

You must read that phrase "choosing those images" in the context of the the complete sentence:
You are not choosing those images that you really want, but just indiscriminately ripping everything the forum has.
In that sense, "choosing those images" does not really refer to choosing images from a particular set per se, but rather from a particular thread or forum.

I must say that the changes where non-members now can view pics and torrent section is a thumbs up and a good move.
Hopefully this will attract more visitors to come to this marvelous site.

That's not true. Actually it would give them more incentives to join. FYI, the non-registerd users can only view the thumbnails, they can't open the full images. In order to download the images, they must join the forum to do so.:full:

Could you please bring back or update the Red theme? This blue theme is so generic and bland compared to the signature red scheme SLF had since 2004 (with Sayaka Isoyama as the bannergirl) :please:

I thought the pictures were open to anyone to view? I remember thats why I can here from (other unnamed forum) before, the pic forums was open to everyone. are you saying you can only view thumbnails now in the photo sections?
If you can only view the thumbnails...and cant open the full image file, does that also mean they cant access the torrents files? they can only see what torrents exist?

The pic forums are always openned to everyone so that people know what SLF can offer to them, but that's only limited to its messages and thumbnails. They have to register the forum before they can access the full image. We have been practised that since long time ago.

Exactly.
In short, everyone can access the pic forums and torrent forums, to see the content. However, when they want to open full image, or download the attachment files/torrents, they have to register. The file is in there, if you want to get it, then join the forum.:bingo:

The Thanks button works fine with Internet Explorer ....
The "jumping behavior" and extra page load as I described earler is happening with Firefox.
:attention:
This happens when adding your THANKS to the pre-existing THANKS means FF has to add a new line of THANKS. It happens in IE, OA, FF and every browser. You can't add an extra line of thanks text without creating the space for the extra line on screen.

I have been on Scanlover for a while now and I had accumulated a collection that I kept on my favorites page. Will those be available in the future or are they lost forever?
