I just started a social group and while I was starting a thread in it, I noticed something strange. There seems to be a 1000 character limit on posts. Now, I tried the same post in the forum and 1000 characters and over is fine. So, could we possibly remove this limit and make the posts in social groups the same as posts here in the forum, sans limits?

Huh, never noticed it before to tell you the truth, do you really need 1000 characters to get a point across on a forum post?

It's not a forum post, it's a social group post. In the forum, you can post more than a thousand characters. I started a Movie Reviewers group and reviews can get pretty lengthy.

The 1000 character limit is a limitation of vBulletin within posts for social groups, so there's not much that can be done about it. If you need to post more than 1000 characters, then that should go in a post within the forum since you are limited with what you can do within a social group since it's not meant for full fledged posts.

There's a thread for movies in Idle Chatter that can be used if you need to go over 1000 characters.

I think I'll stick to the social group and work around that. Thanks for the info though.
