With the price of the machine and additional costs for software, wouldn't it be cheaper to buy a portable DVD player ? Then you can burn videos from scanlover into VCD (it's cheaper than DVD....:p)

well its justa basic UMD(custom CD) for the PSP. Its all those who bought the psp for that reason. My portable DVD player was 500 dollars while the psp is 300 dollars. There are advantages for the DVD player, but you just dont have to burn and reformat and all that trouble through UMD.

Plus, on the bus or trains, or just waiting for omone, its less suspectful of you watching porn on a PSP then a dvd player. Handy for in the bathroom too.

Well, even if you lugged a laptop or portable DVD around, you'd get quite an audience and it wouldn't bode well if you wanted to check out a video compared to say a PSP (well, in my country you'd still get looks as PSPs are rather uncommon). Why do people watch porn on their mobile devices? Simply because they can I guess.
