However, we did have comic books. One of our major sources of entertainment, along with an assortment of sports magazines.

And in most of these magazines... was this lil ad telling all of us what we should look like. A major source of anxiety, which caused its fair share of bad dreams back then.

This Dream Image is for real. It is neither staged nor Photoshopped.

It is from an actual lynching and burning of a real prson in America's Deep South in the early 1900's.

We do not know if the person lynched was male or female. Both sexes were lynched on a regular basis back then. But we do know they were Black.

Take a moment and just look closely at the faces and the facial expressions of these men who had just murdered an innocent human being.

They look like normal God-Fearin' folk, don't they? Out for an evening of frolic God worshipping. We do know that a church service and prayer was offered, just before they hung and torched this poor soul.

One can take away many thoughts from a Dream Image such as this, but it does show that humans are only one very small step away from being totally crazed.

I have a lil habit that I've done every Sunday morning, without fail, since 1968.

This ritual has become a part of me over these many years. Or you could say, decades. Here it is...

Every Sunday morning, I will sit down and read the Sunday Issue of the New York Times. Cover-to-cover.

It is a very large newspaper, which will generally take me well over an hour or so to read.

Sure, I read the news and such. But I also read about culture, science, World events, economics, etc. All sorts of topics. They're almost endless.

Everyone close to me, knows of this ritual. Some have become part of it at times. Over the years, these folks, mainly women I've been with, have come and gone.

Generally, I sip two or three cups of coffee while reading. For many years, I also smoked a cigar, but I pretty much quit smoking cigars some 10 years ago, now.

I openly suggest this lil ritual to all who wonder about it. I have found that it has become a basis to my general knowledge and viewpoints.

Yes, the NYT is known for some of its Liberal type leanings, much of which I ignore. It is however, very good at in-depth probing of issues and such. It is also very good at leading edge and early analysis of topics and issues.

One could probably use any such newspaper depending upon your situation. One good thing about the NYT, no matter where I've lived, I can always get Early Sunday Morning Delivery of the paper.

For the last nine years, my Lil Korean Dragon Lady joins me in this beloved ritual almost every Sunday morning, after her workout. (I rarely workout in mornings. I like evening workouts. But that's another topic.)

Anyways, when I first started doing this lil ritual, this very Dream Image is one of the very first NYT inserts I read. I remember it like yesterday. (Fortunately or unfortunately.)

The day was: Sunday, November 10, 1968. Eleven days before my 18th Birthday.

My NYT ritual has changed and adjusted over the years. Like when I mentioned my cigar smoking, I've had many adjustments come and go, just as people I've shared this with... have come and gone.

I would say over all of these years, I've done this ritual for the most part, alone. Even over these last years with my Lil Korean Dragon Lady, she'll often simply read a lil, have a cup of coffee, and she's gone.

I've often spent three or four hours reading on a Sunday morning. Alot depends on whether I've worked that day or not. Over recent years, I work most Sundays, which limits my ritual to a couple hours.

Many years, such as my 15 years working in department stores, or my 15 years as a Liquidator, I had Sundays off, so I wasn't as restricted for time, unless I had something scheduled.

I leave Sunday mornings open from 8AM to 10 or 11AM, for my NYT ritual.

Often, I will hold onto parts of the paper for reading later on in the week. I've also held onto sections for weeks or months before finally reading them.

One thing I do try to do is to find an isolated place for my ritual. Not my office though. Too many distractions, i.e. my computer. This time of the year, we have a second floor garden balcony on our building that's perfect.

Oh yes, I always turn my phone off. Something that drives my Lil Korean Dragon Lady, crazy at times.

Later, just before and after her death, he was a business partner of mine. Oh yes, we played on the same softball team together.

Anyways, Janis was very good, especially when she sang the Blues.

I love beautiful wooden floors. Wood floors are probably my favorite type of flooring.

When My Lil Korean Dragon Lady and I bought our building years back, which I believe I've described before inside OldiesLover's Strange Dreams (It's two floors, over 10,000 square feet, etc.), I found that the previous owners had glued down carpeting on top of these unbelievable wood floors.

Talk about stupid. Plus, it's a ton of work to pull-up the glued carpeting and then strip away all the glue, then sand, then stain, then coat and finally wax. I really don't mind most of it, except for striping the glue. It's a ton of work, just to fix something that should've NEVER been done.

Anyways, I refinished all the floors except for two large rooms. Mainly, because the carpet was in very good condition, etc. So now the time has come to get to work.

My motivation? To take pictures of My Lil Korean Dragon Lady, naked, stretched out on these floors, just like this Dream Image:

I had a lil Bondage Session with My Lil Korean Dragon Lady acouple nights ago.

Like the majority of such fun times, we didn't plan it, hence I wasn't prepared to try any of my new Bondage Trick Ideas. I have several inmind, but I'd need to do some preparation.

But when it comes to Bondage Sessions, ya get what ya get at times.

Anyways, it has a large home gym, which needed some upgrades. One thing I did was to pull the plaster ceiling down so I could do some stonger insulation and soundproofing, along with wiring four ceiling fans into place.

This gave me the opportunity to install some bracing beams for some hangin' bondage tricks.

If you're gonna do some bondage tricks such as seen in this Dream Image... for sure, you'll want some strong ceiling beams.

I have been an Oakland Raiders fan since my teenage years. As I was battling with my father as many teenage boys do, my father was a long-time Pittsburgh Steelers fan. So I asked who the Steelers hated the most(?). The answer, the Oakland Raiders.

As I watched them back in the mid 60’s, they were tough, street mean and exciting. I’ve been a Raider fan every since.


In the early 80’s, I was living in Phoenix, AZ, but had been a diehard Raider fan for almost 20 years. Then, I heard they were moving to LA. Having lived in LA previously, this situation interested me. I thought I would finally be able to see the Raiders, live. Something I hadn’t yet done.


However, Phoenix is a 45 minute plane ride to LA. After buying Raiders tickets for my son and I (He was 11 or 12 years old at that time.), I bought two Southwest plane tickets, thinking we’d take a taxi from LAX to the Coliseum. When we boarded the plane, the plane was full of Raiders fans. One of them told me that for a few dollars, we could catch a special bus to the game, and back to the airport. This we did.


As I found out, we could walk out our front door in Phoenix and be in our seats at the game in less than 2 hours. It was great. We didn’t even have to go through the airports. We went straight to the gate, straight onto the plane, straight to LAX, straight to the bus, straight to the Coliseum, straight back to LAX (Right through traffic in the commuter lanes.), straight to our plane, straight back to Phoenix with our car only a few steps away. Such a thing isn’t possible these days with security procedures an all.


This led me to become a Season Ticket Holder for the Los Angeles Raiders. Something I dreamed of, but never thought it would happen.


By coincidence, after a couple years as a Raiders Season Ticket Holder, riding the Raider Express, I got a job with a company based out of San Ramon, CA, just outside Oakland. Every so often I flew up there for meetings. One day after a meeting with 8 or 9 executives, we were taken out to dinner in Danville.


It was a very large restaurant, which was very busy. However, we had a private dining room with windows looking out onto the entry area. While sitting there, I looked out the window and guess who was standing there waiting to get in? Al Davis, the Owner of the Raiders.

All of us took notice when one of the executives in our group said he knew Davis and the guys he was with. Unbelievably, he went out and asked them if they would join us so they wouldn’t need to wait for a table. A few seconds later, I was sitting next to Al Davis.


I had seen him many times walking the sidelines at Raiders games, and I had always admired him as a football genius and business maverick. So what should I talk to him about?

Well, believe it or not, I told him about the Raiders Express for us Phoenix based Raider Fans. He was very surprised. He had never heard about the Southwest flight to the games. After an interesting conversation over dinner, I went back to Phoenix, shocked about who I had just had dinner with.


That was added to, when the next time I got onto the Raiders Express, the plane was full of Raiderettes and free drinks… From Al Davis.
