The 8th China International Ceramics Expo was fun would not do it justice. Who knew ceramics could be this fun? China is a whole new and a very different place from what we have come to expect. Exhibitionist activities in China are now officially sanction by the state. And exhibitionism in the Chinese mainland are on the rise with people having sex in the open. The eighth International Ceramics Exposition and World Ceramics Purchasing Fair held in Zibo, Shandong province, on September 16-20, 2008 had everything. Including a lot of bush, ass and tits on display. Not to mention the latest ceramic designs by 423 ceramics artists from seven provinces. Now, the only thing is to figure out what naked chicks have to do with ceramics. This might take awhile but I think I like where this is going.

If it is art or not, I will not opinionate on. But its rather disturbing to me... not the type of material I expect to see here in Scanlover.
And since the thread is "NUDE is an art", I dont see it fitting in - art or not - as she is not nude, so that alone should motivate it not belonging to this thread.

I frequent this forum to see beauty and/or get aroused, etc, and this type of material does neither for me. Quite the contrary.

If this sort of material belongs at all in Scanlover forum (which is up to the moderators to decide), Id suggest one creates a fetish thread named "suicide" or "macabre" or something, so we who dont appreciate this form of pics can avoid seeing such images, in the same way as with other - shall I say - special interests. Some things I just dont want to see, and once seen, they cant be unseen. So I for one, would appreciate not being exposed unwarned to this type of pics.

That is at least my personal opinion, for what its worth.

I disagree. I thought the SUICIDE posts were great. Sometimes people need to push the boundaries of what others consider art to be and if what is produced is shocking and controversial, then all the better.

But I also think a thread dedicated to Macabre-related pics is a great idea for I've run across such pics and had no idea where to post them in the forum.

With all and deep respect, my dear friend Borderline, I am not debating its status as art (I am myself and artist and a composer and usually dont produce "mainstream" stuff).
My points are
1) the thread says "NUDE"... the pics are not nude
2) the shock of the unexpected violence is not pleasant, not what I come here for.
3) I have no problem with people liking such pics, but I think it is fair to allow others to be able to avoid looking at them, by creating an appropriately named thread in the Fetish section.
I would not have a problem creating such a series as this one (or even more gory), but I would never dream of posting it in a thread like this.
If your create a "Macabre" thread, chances are that I would look at it, but then I will be emotionally prepared for it. In this thread it's just a very disturbing jolt, that I dont appreciate on any level and strongly object to. I just dont want such imagery thrown at me with no warning, out of topic. I dont want to buy tickets to Sound Of Music just to find that they are suddenly clipping in the Chainsaw Massacre or The Cell half ways through it.

As a tangent, in reply to your comment: As an artist/composer, I often push the limits and boundaries, and sometimes some of the things I have done have been seen as controversial and even shocking. But I never see that as an aim in itself. I personally have never understood the idea that there is a self-value for art to be shocking or controversial. If what I produce _happens_ to be so, that is one thing, but I never set out to and personally find very little respect for artists who's only goal is to try to be shocking or controversial... Sadly often "experiment" is just a poor excuse for lack of artistic skills. (As for this set, I find (as an artist) that his dramaturgical line is flawing, as is his sense of balance in the pics... and the lighting and camera angles could be much much much better... But to his defense, this is posted in the Amateur Alley).
But all that is another discussion that really dosnt belong here at all. We can bring that discussion offline if you wish to continue it.

My bottom line is: art or not, for the above 3 reasons I dont think this set is appropriately posted.
But that is just my own personal opinion. I have no say, but I do express my dislike to this post in this thread.

Hmm, I like the pictures girl. Kinda like a portrait of the stereotype EMO meaning on the internet

However I find the blood on the face really low quality and looks kinda stupid... Completely ruined the set for me... It just looks like it's photoshopped in, it might be but yeah the lack of color was better looking...

And even for red that red is a really bad color of red, needs to be more on the orange side rather then pink to fit the setting the person was trying to make.

I did not see it was you that had started the thread.

I dont find it "sick" but I _did_ find it rather disturbing to me, to see it without warning.

May I suggest - as I did in my former post - that you start a thread in the "fetish" area, and name it "macabre" or something similar? I am sure others will be delighted to help you fill that thread. Your suicide posts will be a worthy start of it, I think.
