Every seen a video on YouTube that you want to download into your music player? Well KeepVid Does it.

I tried this on my friends 60 GB Video Ipod, it works

1) click on the video you are viewing and copy the "URL" link
2) go to KeepVid (Http://www.keepvid.com)
3) Select YouTube, and copy the link and wait until it generates a direct link
4) than the page should refresh and select Save As. Right click and save the file to the desktop.
5) After complete, please note that the video is in FLV format. Flash Video Format then needs to convert into MPEG-4. (requires purchase)..
6) Turn on Itunes and copy the MPEG-4 Video into Library.
7) Plug in and there you have it. Please note that Itunes keep files in Sync automatically..

PS. Sometimes KeepVid doenst work on certain videos. use at your own risk.. well I've been downloading for awhile and I love it..

If you want to just view it there are free FLV viewer like the FLV Player that is free to download. Make sure that the files you have do have a (*Flv extention)

- Got questions, holla' me up.

when watching youtube vids, its easier to change the extension from
.flv->.mpg so you can watch you vids in your favorite player
without having to sacrifice size with the limited FLV player.

I think this was mentioned already in the youtube thread.

I used eRightsoft's freeware converter "Super" to convert the encoded YouTube files directly into MPEG/AVI.

I didn't know you could just re-name the FLV's and they work regardless ? Seems I wasted my time converting them. Doh !

Output includes iPod but I don't have a iPod so I can't convert a video and test it.

I was going to cut and paste all the formats, but the length was so long that is would just annoy everyone, so here is the relevant bit -

iPod converter Convert any input video format to an iPod file. Convert an iPod file to any other video format.
The rendered iPod files are created using the most advanced video codecs H.264/AVC and MPEG-4 format.

To copy a DVD (that you legally purchased) into a valid iPod format, we recommend that you also use the best available DVDDecrypter to decrypt the entire DVD and copy the VOB files to your HardDisk in order to encode them with SUPER ©. Note that DVDDecrypter is also a Freeware.

I didn't know you could just re-name the FLV's and they work regardless ?... That was one useful advice i could of used a while ago! Heh.. Thanks.
Although one thing i hate though is when you jump the clip it tends to leave the sound out °~°

It's just a damn shame that the video quality of youtube stuff is pure shite. If it wasn't for the so call low quality, i don't think youtube would be as popular as it is now O_o

you can also download YouTube Videos using a add-on for Firefox called Greasemonkey. It's a small script. And there are also downloading sites; just search google and you're good to go

Wow that extension looks GREAT ! I watched their demonstration movie and you are able to just click on the extension's button and save the YouTube directly to disk ! (dunno if the file it saved still needs converting though ?)

EDIT - tried it, it saves YouTube files as FLV, no conversion on the fly, but still an excellent extension. The only problem with FLV is of course that you cannot drag the slider bar around to view at will.
