We've had Members and even Moderators, asking for a Copyright Approval Area. A place where questionable materials can be submitted for Approval or Disapproval for this Forum. Note, If we review requests and we don't know for sure, we will ask Administrators for a more definite Authorization .

When submiting your requests, please include as much information as possible about the material, i.e. has it been released as Free Samples, to TGP's and so forth.

This particular film is one of their early selections featuring an Asian woman called Marinas. I am wondering if Germany is one of the countries to be watchful of. I understand US and UK material is not accepted on Scanlover.

kukunana, I have reviewed your Nao Yoshizaki Zip. To tell you the truth, the fonts used by the producers, is so bad, I can't read it. Why anyone would use such fonts for ID, I have no idea(?).

The request is certainly not confidential. I do not know the producer either.

I used PM instead of posting here because it was simply hard to describe those pictures. Furthermore, I had no other information available for the pictures to include.

I forgot what TGP is agian, Cyan told me.:( But no the film was never a sample, it's 575 mb. The question we are likely looking at is what is our relationship with Germany, and would the site go after a 4-5 year old release. Let me know if you need more info.

Well Eviltoon, it depends on whether that German site hires somebody to go around the net and check for their copyright materials. If they do then it is most likely that they'll pursue the issue. We had such problem recently as you may be well aware of, and that copyright material belong to a site they no longer exist !!!

Sorry szsprod, but Z (as usual) is 99% Correct. ;) Mr. Chews is U.S. based, and hence, risky to Post.

However... and this is a big HOWEVER, Mr. Chews has released a ton of material to TGP's, FREE SAMPLES and such.

This is an issue, as soon as a couple other issues bouncing around these days (:o ) gets resolved, all of the Mods and Admin.s need to discuss.

From what I've been told by other Webmasters, TGP and FREE Sample material is "A LOT" less protectable via Copyrights.

A TGP is a Thumbnail Gallery Post. Although TGP's are generally ploys to get you into a Pay Site, all of the Material Released into them are much less Protectable from Copyright Infringment.

Kinda like an Photographer who puts work out there simply to generate interest in their other work. If they hand-out 100,000 FREE copies of a picture, they don't have much basis to complain if someone frames a copy and puts it up in their living room.

We Mods and Admin's are discussing this issue as I speak.

This still isn't acceptable materials to be posted here gentlemen. In fact, merely covering up the original watermark with your own without some major rework on the image is illegal, at least it is in the US. So please refrain from this type of practice. Thanks.

on the images, and the images can't be of orignal size must resize to where you cut some of the orignal image out. Asked about posting a entire set of a couple of their asian modles and they said they don't like to do that.Maybe if someone from scanlover contacted them they might be able to change their minds.

Personally, I sorta agree with them in regards to their Full Sets. Do you realize the expense of producing the quality of material that they create?

They are nice enough to share a ton of their material... so at some point we need to curb our greed. Or should I say, "Curb Our Enthusiasm?"

Sure, when we chat with them, perhaps they have some Full Sets that they're willing to Release, but that should be a decision on their part, not ours. :p

but their mostly European, American and it's really a pain trying to post their images everything got to be resized and pasted with their logo and you can only post 10 images, don't know where they got that number from seems small to me.

They have done some very good work with Asian Models. I wish they had more. :(

Their number is low because all they're doing is Sampling. They're promoting themselves...

Such wallpapers and/or photos are regularly released to help publicize a movie. I have never heard of a Copyright issue on such marketing materials.

This of course is assuming that someone hasn't changed or photoshopped the material and left the watermark in tact.

Agian, as far I as can tell, these are Publicity Releases and are rarely Copyright Enforced, assuming the party is not using the material to make money or defame the Movie and/or Movie Producers.

Player1, It is best is you use the Manage Attachments function. The first image looks OK to me, but obviously, imageshack won't load.

Since you're new and if you are worried about copyright... a good place to start is by getting a feel for our Forum with a few minutes browsing THE LOBBY, and then Read The Official Copyright Policy Posted, here, Inside the Public Relations Department.

Mainly, stay away from the Banned Sites and for the most part, you'll be OK.

Obviously Player1, the issue with these pictures isn't a Copyright Issue... It's the fact that they are not Asian. (Although #4 could possibly be part Asian.)

Yes. Leah Dizon's stuff are used to be copyrighted when she was working as a car model until last year.

However, recently she has decided to go to japan to explore her "gravure idol" career. From now on, she will be an idol, and a singer, and will be working in Japan. As you know, in scanlover forum, 99% of the photos are sourcing from Japan. When it comes to Japanese stuff, copyright is not an issue anymore. Since Leah's newest photobook "Hello Leah!" is produced/distributed in Japan, then it's allowed in scanlover forum.

Of course, her previous works (the photos when she was working as car/american asian model) are still not allowed in the forum. But for the recent/future works which she will release in Japan soon, you can safely post them in the forum.

First, as older Members will remember, we had a major Copyright shut-down a year ago at about this time.

Second, not only did we do a lot of cleaning back then, we also started doing a lot of research on the Topic.

We continue our effort to this day by the way. For example, scanlover and I are members of an Adult WebMaster Forum where we are often learning about new techniques.


Third, we started the PR Department along with this Copyright Authorization Desk for both inquires and oversight of Copyright issues throughout the Forum. This gives any Producer an obvious place to communicate with us about any material inside our Forum.


Fourth, we developed as streamlined of an Official Copyright Policy as we felt we could live with. We went many months with unsure Copyright enforcement until we developed an official stance that we will maintain a list of TOTALLY BANNED SITES.


Through our research, these sites are relatively dangerious. Although, we have attempted to communicate with all of them, and we have yet to hear a word from any of them one way or another.

Fifth, If the site is not on the BANNED LIST, Western or not, it is Ok to Post. However, as our Copyright Policy states, if it is U.S. Based, please contact this Copyright Desk.

This gives the PR Department an opportunity to check-out the site. If it is one that we haven't e mailed to before, or we feel needs some research... we will do it. This process has caused a couple sites to go onto the BANNED LIST.

By the way, many of the sites I have e mailed, believe it or not... do not have contact information or ability. According to Copyright Legal Experts, the site must have this contact point (It is called: CUSTODIAN OF RECORDS U.S.C. TITLE 18, SECTION 2257 COMPLIANCE NOTICE or STATEMENT.)... or they have no room to complain about usage of their material.

Regardless, I will do my best to find their Custodian Of Records or Legal Representative. 99 times out of a 100... I hear nothing back.

Also, another side note... 2 of our Goddesses came to us because of this Copyright effort. With the Goddesses, nothing is BANNED because they are also Scanlover Moderators. They can delete as they wish.

Once we hear documented information that Black Alley(A4U) has either started a new site or purchased an ongoing site, that site will also be promptly BANNED in here.

if u want to know more information about 3gp go at the link below bro. as i know it is type of video file like avi, mkv, mpeg. But 3gp is for handphone cause the size is more smaller. But we can also play it on computer use some software. hope this can help bro.:bingo:

So far, there's no restrcition on the 3GP posting. However, users are encouraged to post the screenshot as well when posting 3GP clips. Just to make sure the content is legal and it would be more convenience for the mods to verify the content.

I have some rather old (about 2 years ago) stuff from Met-Art ... both Chinese (under Met-Art NOT Met-Art CN) and Japanese. They were DL from other sharing sites and I have the full set (full res).

I have uploaded a full set (resized) just ... and if it is not allowed, I will take them down and I will stop future posting of Met-Art.

Hi AVNet, as you will see, I personaly have uploaded I think almost every Met-Art set of Asian Met-Art models. You will find that most of us that have posted Met-Art pictures always aknowledge Met-Art, as some of us have membership with them. At any time though, Met-Art could ask Scanlover to take down all Met-Art pictures, as they have the copyright to their work. I hope this helps you in your query.

So long as it does not come from any that are on our banned list, I would say that it is ok. However, we do have to tread a little bit carefull, as I suspect Misha Online is an American registered company, and they do tend to make a song and dance now and then about posting Copyrighted pictures up on the internet.

Feel free though to go ahead and post. I dont see a problem at the moment.

But as it was distributed in the US by that warmhearted minnow, Miramax, I thought it wise to check if this was OK.
If not, not, but it's a jolly good laugh if you haven't already seen it and goes well with Shaolin Girls, which is in that thread!
