Children Reel In Horror As PELICAN Swallows a PIGEON Whole

Families strolling through a London park were left shocked when a pelican picked up and swallowed an unsuspecting pigeon.

The Eastern White pelican struggled with the desperately frantic pigeon in its beak for more than 20 minutes before swallowing it whole.

The moment was caught on camera by photographer Cathal McNaughton, who was taking pictures of the wildlife in St James's Park.

The pigeon was still alive when it reached the pelican's stomach, he said.

Hmmm...pelicans are fish-eaters. They do eat other animals, but they rarely ever do that. I've never seen anything like this before, but I guess anything can happen in life. :D

aw, they seemed to have removed the video now. But yeah I didn't know Peligans ate other birds too. >_> thought they only ate fishes. Must've gotten really hungry or sth

It's the survival of the fittest out there, bub. Either the fishing in London is very tough, or that old bird figured out an easy way to catch pidgeons (throw bread crumbs in front of them?).
