has anyone heard about the latest j-pop star YUI? she has a voice of an angel. I am so hooked on her voice. btw she is a very beautiful girl also. very inocent and pretty face. i love her in her mv rolling star where she dresses up as a rocker chick. wow.

i don't find her to be that beautiful, she has nice songs though, i like some of them very much.

i consider her the "kitchie nadal" of Japan, or just the equivalent (kitchie nadal is a musician in the Philippines). just an opinion though.

She got decent look. When I read the name YUI, I think of the songs "Rolling Star" and "LIFE" theme songs of Bleach. To be honest, when I listen to "Rolling Star" I thought that was a little boy's voice :D not of a girl. I mean, she doesn't have a "mature" voice, you know...

I have heard of the opening song of Bleach, but didn't know that it was her, thanks for the heads up, will definitely look into it. As far as the song goes, it didn't really stand out when I first heard it, but one song doesn't make the artist. Will definitely look into it.

i like her voice very much, it's sounds very sexy to me. normally i'll fast forward the opening songs when i watch anime but YUI's opening to bleach is the only anime opening i never fast forward.

I downloaded her album "From Me to You" this time last year on a whim and was surprised on how great it was. Im glad i did...just waiting patiently for her next album now. She has great talent and pretty to boot.

For me, I love the Tokyo song, it's so emotional. I asked a Japanese friend, she said YUI (not her real name) is original not from Tokyo. Thus, she wrote this song to express her feeling. I dont know it is true or not but I believe so, makes the song more beautiful to me. Especially the part she's crying, looks so adorable !!!

I watched both vid clips "Rolling Star" and "LIFE" and listened to her album. I'm taking back my previous thought/talk about her. She's really something. Well, in both video clips, you mostly don't see her smile and she doesn't look straight to the camera very often (may be contributed by the fact that she's not people-typed). In the "LIFE" vid, for a few seconds, you may catch her slight smile which looks really pretty. Well, I still say that she's not beautiful by definition, but her overall appearance and the fact that she can play guitar make her really cool.

Some person also uploaded the movie on Youtube divided into 12 parts. It's a private video, so you'll have to add the person as a friend first to see it. Er.... all of her songs have a story behind them from what I heard. "I remember you" is about a guy that she knew and admired, someone said it was her first love.

"It's happy line" was the journery to her career, farewell departing from her home town to Tokyo.

There are a few more but I don't know whether they are true.

Just only Taiyo no uta. She might be doing something else but she's paying attention to her music. There's no mentioning on any roles yet.

Reminds me her 2nd album might be releasing 4th April.

Sachi Tainaka is the best!!!
IMO, YUI should cut back on using English in her music. As many other Japanese, she pronounces "l" for "r" ("lolling star", "spilal & escape"... to name a few). I actually have her "From Me to You" album in my car, listen to it quite tens of times (it's cool), and catching this setback disappointed me quite a bit.
