French anti-P2P group HADOPI possibly to get shut down!!!!

http://arstechnica.com/tech-policy/2012/08/french-anti-p2p-agency-hadopi-likely-to-get-shut-down/

This article is about the new French Minister of Culture not being pleased with HADOPI, an anti piracy group, due to their lack of providing legal alternatives to piracy via p2p means.

Aurélie Filippetti, the aforementioned minister of culture, in an interview with a French Magazine, Le Nouvel Observateur, said this:
"I do not know what will become of [Hadopi], but one thing is clear: Hadopi has not fulfilled its mission of developing legal content offerings."

On top of that, they have already proven that piracy can be lessened by quite a bit if they just release all the products worldwide around the same time. Take for instance Japan; it is more or less luck to see American movies being released here in cinema. Even if they do get released, it can take months before that actually happens (The Avengers will only be out this month). Plus, according to a questionnaire I did a while back, for games at the very least, a rather large part of piracy takes places because either the game isn't out in the region (or ever will), the game has already been removed from the shelves (way too bloody rare) and the biggest reason, there is no demo available for it.

They shouldn't have stopped making 2D platform games. The transition to 3D gaming might have been good for graphics and realistic war, driving, and shooting games but there is something about the old style 2D that never gets boring. Other than that, games are being mass-produced with generic stories and linear exploration. Games are also too foolproof these days. They were better when they were hard.
