Not exactly...... from what I know so far. Unless there are some who is really good at hacking into their server.

They have the VIP threads whereby only premium members can gain access to it, to view or download.

Premium membership does not imply to those who only make donations to support their server operation but those who have posted up to a certain amount of useful threads are also awarded with a premium membership.

Serieux, I think the internet ad market is in the pits right now and scanlover would run an ad if there were possibilities. I agree that the last one was a curious ad on a site that offers the same product being marketed - but for free.

I have no problem with the ads, as long as they are either in banners, top or bottom or side bars but not bursting across the page.

Any sort of fee would kill off this board permanently. The truth is that most people won't want/be able to pay a fee and so the board would be practically devoid of posters.

Besides, most the contributors get all their stuff from certain boards that many of us already know about. And on top of that, I can name at least two English-language boards that offer exactly what Scanlover does, so there's nothing stopping everyone from migrating.

And most importantly, memberships rather than donations could lead to some serious legal problems, considering how no one here actually owns the rights to the content they are sharing. I'd rather see Scanlover bring back the ads than have it become a hollow shell of its former self and possibly being shut down completely for breaking the law.

In fact most of us and if not all of us here knows that paying a fee is illegal without me having to re-quote what you have said.

The point to it now is that, NO ONE IS DEMANDING FOR A PAID MEMBERSHIP but just a simple request for DONATION

Donations are made VOLUNTARILY and not MANDATORY

So it just falls back on individuals and for those who can afford
