AO and mimip2p are down..

EDIT: Now this is just wrong. The moment I post a site's down, they come back up minutes after. AO's still down but mimip2p is up and running.

Akiba-Online is temporarily down due to continued issues with our server hardware.

The problem is not a threat to the database, so there will not be any data loss.

Please be patient

AO is just too messy, simple as that. Moderation is too limited, especially in the downloads sections. You can usually find many of the same downloads under varying titles, why they can't clean things up by using the mirrors only/re-uploaded/user threads approach is beyond me.

Maybe it's too late to introduce new moderation tactics. I never go near the downloads sections anymore as it's just too painstaking.

SLF maybe loses quite a lot of posters because it's more organized with it's posting rules, but user friendliness is much better here.

If JT, SLF and AO are considered the "BIG THREE" then SLF's probably the only standing high and mighty. AO had a lot of problems recently. Server has been down two to three times this February. Browsing is far from bearable.

AO being flaky is nothing new.

AsianForumer, always considered the 5th board, after the big 4 (you missed AST which is dead too), is still trucking along.

There were multiple boards vying to be JT Next Generation, but it seems like JavForum is the one that took off. It's still got some growing to do to be on the SLF or former JT level, but hopefully it will get there.

JAVForum's good. But image hosting's a problem. And what happened to BB's mini forum? I was getting trojan warnings when I visited the site.
