Japan is following Babylon nicely...........

http://www.wired.com/gamelife/2012/06/japan-download-copyright-law/

Japan has instituted a new law that goes live October that would make Babylon proud.

If you download anything copywritten, even watching a video on YouTube if it's a copywritten one (though you aren't downloading it; it's streamloading) you face up to 2 million Yen or $25,000 in fines and up to 2 years in jail.

Not as bad as America's up to $250,000 per infringing act and up to 5 years in prison not jail but it's something Babylon is proud of.

our 250k one is so rarely enforced I see it being the same in Japan. The courts would be drowned by appeals costing them more than the original fine. Most likely it will be used only against those distributing the material which is much easier to prosecute than the others.

True. Because most judges would never agree to a "Amy Smith" downloading 20 songs should be equated to a $250,000 per song, since each song would count as its own infringement and most never give the full 5 years for it, again, for the same reasons.

That's what was dangerous about SOPA. It took the power out of courts, and you had to go through a copyright tribunal that was run most likely by rights holders so they could give the max sentencing for the smallest of infringements.

Those laws of up to $250,000 and / or up to 5 years in prison was written for instances like MU, or back in the days when people ran mass piracy / bootleg rings of Hollywood movies back in the theatre era and sold and made millions upon millions.

Trying to use that on cases of someone who downloads 12 songs or 2 movies when you'd get nowhere near that if you stole a few Blu-ray's or CD's from a store is absurd.

Japan I hear in many cases is worse than America at prosecuting their own though. They may not but it's still all messed up and showing how absurd copyright laws have become.

This world is in chaos due to Babylon. Things will change and be better once their corruption, and evil and oppression of the world dies with their empire.

Not too long after signing ACTA, Japan instituted their own 'mini DMCA' which seems too 'out there' it couldn't possibly be real. In fact it IS. Publishers got arrested for merely publishing a book telling you how to back up DVD's.

Good job Japan, you stupid cowards, selling your nation and people out for the people known as Babylon.

One thing many, so so many fail to realise and why they say we're "conspiracy theorists" is that they often look on the immediate. If it's not happening now, it can't possibly.

You have to think like the grand masters of chess, this is a game, a strategy. These guys often have patience and don't mind taking time. They aren't going to do the fucking stupid obvious ONE BIG OMG EVENT to take control, they do it in small steps over time. They slowly implant with propaganda to move and push the people into complacency and accepting it.

Until people accept that, they cannot ever possibly start to want to see the real truth and people like you and I, Alex Jones etc.. are just whacko conspiracy theorists.

I'm suprised Japan doesn't a have a proper social security/welfare/benefit system.

Homelesss people everywhere, even in small towns and the suburbs.

Because they feel it is the responsibility of the Family to help support those in need and not the system. They also viewed what happened with the EU and the USA on our social programs and they came to the conclusion that it didn't help the issue anymore but instead caused more drain on the tax payers for 1:3 ratio of recovering. Meaning 1 in 3 actually got back on their feet through said programs and contributed back to the tax pool.

As far as the system is concerned, if your family didn't want you back they don't either so go ahead and jump off that bridge they have plenty of other people to deal with. Sadly I can't say I completely disagree with their standing. In days past this was a natural selection in a sense that those that pushed ahead got ahead and those that didn't well...didn't. You can't save everyone and sometimes people just have to go.

Social systems here in the USA haven't done all that much good. I see plenty of people doing under the table deals to receive money from the Government and doing work on the side so they can get their kids into free college and everything else and no one investigates it properly. I can see why the Japanese didn't want those same systems. It costs money to put the system in, more money to investigate those that abuse it, and even more money to deal with court and to then pay MORE money to put them in jail because they can't afford the fines. So if you don't have the system in the first place and they starve, the tax payers save a lot of money.
